This track was written about one of my dearest friends. It's a tribute to who she is and has been to me, as well as a reminder that the dumb boys that didn't see who you were when they had you; can go kick rocks on the freeway. No matter what happens in life, the choice to love is a sometimes brutal reality that people are not who you thought they were, or a portal to seeing the deepest places of someone you never expected. The latter is always preferred, but to love in it's truest form is what brings life to it's greatest precipice of experience.
lyrics
I saw you many times, heart in many pieces
Sifting through the lies, how can it be this
Hard to walk away from unmet affection
Looking in the mirror now holds a new reflection
Anger in your eyes from so much deception
You were a prize to have
So let go of the day that's
Holding you back
And give into tomorrow
What do you have to lose
'Cause you're the best I know of
So go on and love
You were by my side when my love went tragic
Not with lofty words or sentiment and magic
loving me was all you ever had to do
I might not have made it through
And I'm so much better for knowing you
And forever I am here
So let go....
You're not broken beyond fixing, love
I promise you that
Your heart is gold, they just didn't know somehow
Just what they had
