The bittersweet journey of a struggling musician. Many people have thought that I've been living in some sort of dreaming cloud, but there's not really another place I can see myself residing. Meeting someone special can push those insecurities to the forefront and bring some fear of not being able to give them everything that they expect from you right off the bat...but when the dream comes true, it will be well worth the wait and time that comes with loving the dreamer. The part of the song about "turning out a bittersweet kiss" is the synopsis of that to me. The love of music and wanting to do that for the rest of my life is such a bittersweet thing.
lyrics
I've only known to dream of this
Forever, and
It's turning out a bittersweet kiss
From my lover
I don't have much to offer you
But a pocket full of dreams and broken strings
That come from my guitar
Maybe one day my tune will change
And my pockets will be full of rearranging
In my heart
But I've only known to dream of this
Forever, and
It's turning out a bittersweet kiss
From my lover
Oh you might say, "be responsible"
Get a job you know will make you house and home
Sure security
And get your head from that dreamin' cloud
You've been stuck in all your life, time to come down
and face reality"
But I've only known...
And oh, this time's not wasted
You might say, this time's been wasted
My heart's been thrown into the stars
It's not coming down to where you are
And my head will stay up in these clouds, no
Doubting's gonna bring me down
